Research Projects
I have had the wonderful opportunities to do research at various places including NASA GSFC, Harvard University, among many others and currently at Johns Hopkins University. Here are some of the most recent projects I've worked on including my most recent work. For a complete list and description of my research experiences and publications, please see my CV.
2020 - Present
Modeling Carbon Cycling on Exoplanets (JHU)
I am currently working with Prof. Laura Schaefer on modeling the carbonate-silicate cycle and deep water cycle on exoplanets to study their effect on atmospheric composition and climate over time. This work is part of the Consortium on Habitability and Atmospheres of M-dwarf Planets (CHAMPs). Have presented this research at the CHAMPs Exoplanet Early Career Highlight Seminar in January 2022, at the AAS Meeting in January 2022, at the Exoclimes VI Conference in Exeter, UK in June 2023 and multiple others. Paper is in prep.
2019-2020
Roman Exoplanet Imaging Data Challenge (NASA GSFC)
Worked on the Roman Exoplanet Imaging Data Challenge doing exoplanet data simulations including testing different orbit fitting packages and improving current exozodiacal light models. Presented research at In the Spirit of Lyon Conference in Japan in 2019 and the AAS Meeting in 2020. Paper was published in 2021 and can be found here.
2017-2019
Shock Experiments of Minerals at High Pressures and Temperatures (JHU)
Carried out shock-wave experiments at the Laboratory for Laser Energetics (LLE) in Rochester, NY to study phase transitions of important minerals found in Earth's interior. Received the Outstanding Research Presentation Award at the SACNAS National Diversity in STEM Conference in 2019.
Summer 2018
Prioritizing Exoplanet Targets for JWST Using TESS (Harvard University)
Used planet formation theory to predict atmospheric signals in order to prioritize exoplanets found with the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) for atmospheric follow up with the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST). Obtained the Outstanding Presentation Award at the Gulf Coast Undergraduate Research Symposium (GCRUS) held at Rice University and presented research at various conferences. Watch my final presentation as part of the summer program at Harvard University here!
